On 18th November 1825 this advertisement appeared in the Belfast Newsletter:

He (Samuel McCausland) was right.  Come back they did in ever increasing numbers, from further and further a field.  By the end of his life he was supplying customers in Australia, New Zealand, U.S.A, France, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Austria, Holland, Belgium, and the Balkans.  But what he was supplying was not articles in the GROCERY LINE.  It was seed, Irish Ryegrass Seed.
